Drumreilly GAA Club officially submitted an application to the local council for significant upgrades to their facilities. The plans include a range of enhancements designed to improve both player and spectator experiences at the club’s grounds.
The proposed developments feature the construction of new dressing rooms and toilets, along with a first-floor meeting room and gym. These additions are aimed at providing better amenities for players and creating a more functional space for team meetings and training. Additionally, the plans include the retention of the existing spectator stand, which will be complemented by the installation of floodlighting for the football pitch. The new lighting will enhance the playing surface and support evening matches and training sessions.
The application was received by the council on August 27, 2024. Following a review process, a final decision on the proposal is expected by October 21, 2024. The upgrades, if approved, promise to modernize the club’s facilities and offer enhanced services to the local community and visiting teams.
Located at Carrickmakeegan, Drumreilly, Ballinamore, the Drumreilly GAA Club has been a central part of the community, and these improvements are anticipated to further strengthen its role. The proposed developments are seen as a positive step towards fostering local sports and providing a better experience for everyone involved.
