Luxurious Leitrim retreat awaits approval on expansion plans

Drumhierny Woodland Hideaway

A decision on the retention application submitted by the highly commended Drumhierny Woodland Hideaway is expected from Leitrim County Council on October 3, 2024.

The development is situated within the curtilage and surrounding areas of Drumhierny Lodge which is a protected structure as designated in the Leitrim County Development Plan 2023 - 2029.

There are 14 proposed developments for the luxurious Leitrim sanctuary, including building a new therapy suite and constructing a new outdoor plunge pool.

Other developments focus on the retention of facilities, such as retaining two outdoor hot tubs and four outdoor seaweed baths. They also wish to retain a children’s play area, ESB substation building, car park and access lane.

Drumhierny have applied to temporarily retain their reception building, coffee shop and existing storage buildings for a period of five years.

Lastly, the application seeks to bring the existing entrance piers and wing walls into compliance with prior planning approvals, and all associated site works.
