King & Moffatt Building Services Honoured as Ireland's Best Managed Companies

King & Moffatt Building Services, based in Carrick-on-Shannon, has been awarded the prestigious Ireland’s Best Managed Companies (BMC) accolade, reaffirming its status among the country’s top-performing indigenous businesses. This recognition comes as part of the 16th annual BMC awards program, where a total of 129 companies were honoured for their outstanding management and business strategies.

The awards ceremony highlighted the impressive achievements of Irish companies, which together boast a combined turnover exceeding €15 billion and employ over 45,000 individuals nationwide. The winning businesses span a variety of sectors, including technology, healthcare, and construction, representing 28 of the 32 counties across the island of Ireland.

A rigorous judging process is employed each year to assess candidates for the BMC status. This evaluation examines the entire management teams and business strategies, focusing on crucial aspects such as environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards, strategic planning, and talent management.

Brian Murphy, Lead Partner for the Ireland’s Best Managed Companies Awards Programme, commented on the significance of the awards: “The Irish economic growth story has been extraordinary, and we see this evidenced in the success of Irish indigenous businesses and the confidence shown by Best Managed Companies. Ensuring Ireland’s entrepreneurs and the companies they start get the support they need to grow and scale is crucial.”

Among the newly recognized companies this year are Active8 Solar Energies, Ashdale Care, Coen Steel Limited, Ethos Engineering, MCO, Mergon Group, Mivan, Mowlam Healthcare, S&W Wholesale, Sisk Group, United Hardware, Western Motors, and Writech.

Cathy Bryce, Managing Director of AIB Capital Markets, expressed pride in being the new lead sponsor of the BMC awards, stating, “One of AIB’s core ambitions is to support Irish companies and their management teams in sustainable growth and development, something which is fully aligned with the goals of the BMC programme.”

In addition to King & Moffatt Building Services, a total of 116 companies requalified as Best Managed Companies this year. Notably, 19 of these achieved Gold Standard for maintaining the status for four consecutive years, while 12 reached Platinum Standard, indicating seven years of excellence in management. Fexco was also awarded the Family Business Award.

This recognition underscores the dedication and hard work of the team at King & Moffatt Building Services and reinforces the importance of effective management in driving business success within Ireland’s vibrant economy.
