Three Leitrim pubs have been honoured with awards at the Irish Pub Awards 2024. All three pubs, located in Carrick-on-Shannon, received regional awards.
Flynn’s Bar received ‘Best Local Pub’ in Connaught, McHugh’s Bar won ‘Best Outdoor Space’ in Connaught and Dunne’s Bar won ‘Best Digital Innovator’ in the province.
“As we always say around Carrick, it’s some pub,” said Shane Fitzpatrick of Flynn’s Bar.
“We’re up to Dublin on November 13. You’re only competing against seven other pubs so we have a good chance hopefully,” he added.
The Leitrim winners will be highlighted as the best in their region and will receive a prize package that includes management training to support further business growth.
All regional winners will also be featured in a profile piece within the Irish Pub Awards special supplement, published in the Irish Independent on the day of the National Awards presentation, November 13.
The Irish Pub Awards, jointly presented by Licenced Vintners Association (LVA) and Vintners Federation of Ireland (VFI), are acknowledged as the definitive industry standard and have gained recognition throughout the trade as the most credible and comprehensive assessment of the best in Irish Pubs.
"The Irish Pub Awards have truly cemented their status as the most prestigious accolades within the Irish pub industry,” said VFI President John Clendennen.
“It’s fantastic to see such a strong representation of exceptional pubs from every corner of Ireland among this year’s regional winners. Securing a place on this list is a clear indicator that your pub is among the finest in the country.
“For those who didn’t make it, I encourage you to learn from the winners and aim to come back even stronger next year.
“The anticipation is building as we look forward to the national awards ceremony in November, where we’ll celebrate the best of the best and reveal which pub will claim the coveted title of National Pub of the Year."
