King & Moffatt has officially opened its Innovation and Technology Hub in Carrick-on-Shannon, creating 50 new jobs and reinforcing the company’s ambitious growth strategy. The hub, which represents a €600,000 investment in the facility at Attirory Business Park, emphasizes harnessing artificial intelligence and advanced digital tools to drive future success. As co-founder John Moffatt stated, “Our goal is to reach a turnover of half a billion by 2030, and AI will be central to achieving that ambition.”

With a remarkable 30% annual growth rate over the past nine years and a target of 15% yearly growth moving forward, King & Moffatt is poised for expansion both in existing markets and across new regions in Europe. Moffatt highlighted AI’s pivotal role in this growth trajectory: “With tools like digital twins, smart buildings, and advanced ERP systems, AI transforms these technologies into game-changers for our industry. This strategic approach positions King & Moffatt as a leader in sustainable, technology-driven construction, equipping the company for strong, strategic growth in a rapidly evolving global market.”

Reflecting on the journey that began more than 40 years ago, co-founder Pat King shared his pride in the solid foundation that he and John Moffatt built together. He recounted the chance meeting between two young tradesmen in the late 1970s who, instead of competing over a house job, decided to join forces—a decision that would lay the groundwork for King & Moffatt. “Back then, a house cost around £15,000, and wages were a modest £15 a week,” King reminisced, highlighting how the company’s growth mirrors the leaps made in their industry.

King attributes King & Moffatt’s continued success to the values that defined its early days: “honesty, hard work, and always doing our best.” He emphasized that the company’s talented workforce and longstanding client relationships have been central to its success. “Our staff are the cornerstone of any organization. Their innovative thinking and dedication have driven us to recognize the need for further investment in a rapidly changing world.”
