Meet the Sligo-Leitrim candidates: Frank Feighan

Frank Feighan, Fine Gael, Sligo-Leitrim-South Donegal

I’m Frank Feighan, your Fine Gael TD and your only Government TD for Sligo/Leitrim/North Roscommon/South Donegal. I was first elected a TD in 2007 and before that as a Senator 2002-2007. I live in Sligo town with my wife Elaine and our two children.

I’m proud to have secured millions in government investment for jobs, sports facilities, roads, and community infrastructure across our region.

In Leitrim, I am proud to have delivered many things for the county, including:

A new school for Ballinamore and a new Nursing unit and Primary care centre for the area

Funding to purchase the old MBNA building by Leitrim Co Council.

Over €40m in funding under various measures through the department of Rural and Community Development which was record funding for a county with a population the size of Leitrim.

€17m under three funding measures for the Shannonside Regional Sports Campus at Carrick-on-Shannon.

Advanced the SLNR greenway project and the Glenfarne Wood Amenity Park in North Leitrim.

Lobbied for the highest Sports Capital Funding for Leitrim in €2.2m (2024).

I have worked with former councillors, Frank Dolan, Sean McDermott, Thomas Mulligan and Finola Armstrong Maguire alongside current Cllrs Maeve Reynolds, Ita Reynolds Flynn, and Enda McGloin to ensure the maximum funding and investment can be achieved for the County of Leitrim and the evidence is there for all to see. Cllr Enda McGloin has been part of my parliamentary support team, and he ensures that Leitrim is always top of my agenda.

I am proud of my work in Leitrim, and I want the opportunity to continue that investment for Leitrim, I need your No. 1 vote to do that.
