Love Woodland, a not for profit, community volunteer group planting native woodland are seeking volunteers to assist with developing long term native woodland in North Leitrim. 

Love Woodland aims to plant thousands of native species to improve the environment and help the planet.

The volunteer group currently have a project at the Old Sea Road in Tullaghan and plan to plant 1,600 trees in December.  

This Saturday, November 30, the group are pre digging for tree saplings in Tullaghan from 11am to 2:30pm.

“We have plenty of spades but if anyone has a pick axe bring it along. Bottle of water and boots essential, gloves if you have them but we have work gloves,” Roger White, Founder of Love Woodland has advised.

The group will be carrying out basic spade and pick work in Tullaghan this weekend, and any newcomers will be shown what to do on site.  

There will be a break at 12:30pm with biscuits and refreshments available.

The group encourages everyone to take part; all are welcome.
