ALERT: Beloved elderly Husky missing from Leitrim Village

A much-loved husky dog named Lady has been missing from Leitrim Village since December 7.

Lady is 17 years old, blind and frail and has two different coloured eyes.

She disappeared during Storm Darragh when a garden fence blew down. At the time, she was wearing a pink jacket.

Leitrim Animal Welfare Centre have said that extensive searches of the area have been carried out on foot and with drones.

There have been a few possible sightings of Lady with the most recent being in Cootehill on Wednesday, December 11. Leitrim Animal Welfare Centre is urging anyone with information to come forward.

Lady is microchipped, and all her details are up to date.

Seana Cuffe, Lady’s owner, is offering a €1000 reward for her return.

“I still feel she is in Leitrim Village myself but we are following up any sightings reported in the hopes she is as much of a determined dog/survivor as she was in her younger days and the adrenaline is keeping her going,” Seana shared on Facebook.

If you have any information or have spotted Lady, please contact Seana on 086 238 6757 or Leitrim Animal Welfare Centre on 085 864 5366.

The Centre is also reminding the public that if you find a stray dog and take it in, it is a legal requirement under the Control of Dogs Act to report the dog to your local dog warden.
