'She saw the light in every storm' - Tributes pour in for Leitrim woman and carer

Tributes have been pouring in for Collette Kelly of Greaghnafarna, Dromahair, Co. Leitrim following her passing on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.

Messages of condolences, memories and of gratitude to Collette for her warmth and kindness have been left on her rip.ie page. Collette is remembered as a carer who brought positive energy and her good humour to those she cared for and met over the course of her life.

One friend wrote: "Collette was a wonderful person who brought a positive energy to those around her. She was appreciated, praised and considered a friend. She is missed."

Another person said: "I remember Collette's warm personality, good humour, kind and positive attitude as she went about her daily duties caring for others, a truly wonderful lady."

Another friend said: "She was the life and soul of any event that she ever attended but sadly she was to go to her eternal reward far too soon. She was one of the most lovely of people that I ever met."

Another person wrote: "She always had a smile when you met her and she was so kind to everyone she looked after over the years. May her gentle soul rest in peace. "

A former carer for Collette wrote: "Collette made every day wonderful and I am blessed to have known her and to have been able to care for her for the short time I did. I will always remember her fondly, the laughs we shared together and every way she saw the light in every storm. "

Collette Kelly is deeply missed by her dear husband Micheal, daughter's Chloe and Michelle, her mother Margaret, sisters Martina, Noreen, Gaye and Olive, brothers Michael and Joseph, and extended Kelly and McTiernan families.

Her Funeral Mass took place in St. Mary’s Church, Killenummery, on Saturday February 15 followed by burial in Carrowcrin Cemetery.
