Benny Mc Gourty died recently in hospital
Tributes have poured in on RIP.ie for Leitrim man Benny Mc Gourty who died recently in hospital.
Benny was from Lisnagroagh in Manorhamilton in Leitrim and died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at Sligo University Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of Bernadette and father to Lisa, Brían and Tony.
Sadly missed by daughter-in-law Eithne, son-in-law Otto, grandchildren Ben, Isabella, Séan, Saoirse and Grace, brother Séan, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and fondly remembered Benny, with one mourner writing,
"Deepest sympathy to Bernadette, Lisa , Brian ,Tony and extended family on the passing of Benny. I went to school with Benny and although I am gone a long time from Blackmountain, every time I had the pleasure of meeting Benny on my visits to Leitrim over the years it brought me back to our younger years. Rest in peace Benny."

Another message said, "So sad to hear of the passing of our dear Uncle Benny. He was such a kind, gentleman who had a heart of gold. Lots of fond memories of chats around the range, and him teaching us how to feed the baby lambs with bottles in Glenfairn. Lots of love to all the Mc Gourty family from Paul, Sinéad, Sarah, Ben and Emily."
"Very sorry to hear of the death of Benny. Great memories of Benny and all the McGourty family when I lived in Mullawn. A lovely jolly friendly neighbour. I haven't met him for about 10years but always looked forward to meetinhg him. Sincere sympathy to his wife children and grandchildren and to Sean. May Benny rest in peace. Ellen Kelly," another person wrote.
FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS:
Reposing at his residence (F91RY92) from 4 pm to 8 pm on both Friday and Saturday evenings.
Funeral Mass on Sunday in St Michael’s Church, Glenfarne (F91AE22) at 12 noon followed by interment in adjoining cemetery.
