There was also an increase in the asking price for 2-bedroom apartments in Leitrim, with a rise of 3.39% to €152,450 in Q1 2025. Meanwhile, the report showed that three-bedroom houses asking prices rose to €239,950 in the same period.
“With the full scale and impact of proposed US tariffs on the EU yet to be determined, it stands to reason that any shock to our economy would have a knock-on effect on housing market demand. As it stands, however, robust demand and inadequate supply are still the hallmarks of the Irish housing market,” said Joanne Geary Managing Director, MyHome
The report outlined an expectation that there would be an uptick in completions this year, but it is unlikely to satisfy demand.
House prices are expected to rise by 10% this year, according to The Sunday Times Nationwide Property Price Guide.
