Uisce Éireann crews are working to restore water supply to customers in South Leitrim following two significant bursts on a water main between Keshkerrigan and Ballinamore this morning.
Residents in Fenagh, Ballinamore, and Keshkerrigan may be experiencing supply disruptions as repair works continue. According to Uisce Éireann, the repairs are expected to be completed by 3pm today. However, full restoration of water supply may take an additional two to three hours after repairs are finished. Customers living on higher ground or at the ends of the network may experience longer delays before normal service resumes.
Kevin Love of Uisce Éireann acknowledged the inconvenience caused and assured the public that crews are working as quickly as possible to resolve the issue.
“We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage and we thank customers impacted for their support while our works are ongoing,” he said.
Vulnerable customers registered with Uisce Éireann are being contacted directly regarding the outage. The utility encourages anyone who has not yet registered as a vulnerable customer—or who wishes to register on behalf of someone else—to visit www.water.ie/vulnerablecustomer.
Uisce Éireann provides updates 24/7 across multiple platforms, including its website, social media channels (@IWCare and @IrishWater on X, Facebook, and LinkedIn), and its customer care helpline at 1800 278 278.
The company has also launched a free text alert service to keep customers informed of real-time local issues. Residents can sign up using their Eircode and mobile number at www.water.ie.
