Playground sought for Newtowngore
Cllr Paddy O'Rourke called on Leitrim County Council to make provisions for a playground for Newtowngore stating that the village is currently one of a few in the county without a public playground.
He added that the population has "increased significantly" and more houses due to be built, which will lead to even more children in the area.

He was advised that Leitrim County Council can provide communities with assistance with funding applications adding that the group must consider the operation, management and maintenance of the facility to ensure its continued safe use by the Community and that responsibility for the provision of adequate insurance cover and on-going repair will rest with the community group.
Cllr O'Rourke said he'd hoped that the council would "have had a more hands-on part of this."
