A Local councillor said that the works be carried out on the road edge in south Leitrim

Leitrim school bus had to pulled out of water table

A school bus got "caught on the edge of the road and went into the water table and had to be pulled out a number of months ago and a car went in there recently and was damaged," Cllr Brendan Barry revealed at a recent meeting during which he called on Leitrim County Council to carry out works on the road edge and verge on the R209 in the townlands of Leamanish and Drumlitten between Keshcarrigan and Fenagh.

He said there was a "five or six foot drop off the edge of the road there on a corner."

He was advised that Leitrim County Council will assess this location and endeavour to build up the verge and install delineators to advise motorist of the hazards at this location.
