Lighting is needed in Dromod village, a Leitrim councillor said this week at the latest Carrick meeting.
Cllr Sean McGowan had asked that funding be sought to upgrade street lighting in Dromod village to provide additional lights on the left-hand side heading from the centre of the village to Crowe's Garage but was advised that the council have "no plans to install additional lighting in or around Dromod village as there is currently no funding available."

Emma Donohoe, district engineer, noted that Dromod has "had many lights upgraded to LED and lighting in the village will improve further as the LED replacement work continues."
Cllr McGowan said it had "been brought to our attention by some of the people in the village that it is dark at that location so I'd ask that we reconsider."
