Missing 21-year-old David O’Callaghan
Gardaí are appealing for further assistance from the public in Boyle, Co Roscommon, as the search continues today, Tuesday, August 12th, for missing Leitrim man David O’Callaghan.
David, 21, from Mohill, has been missing since Saturday, August 9th. He was last seen in the vicinity of St Joseph’s Church, Boyle, after getting out of a car at around 5pm. He is described as being 6ft 3in in height, of medium build, and was last seen wearing a black top and white runners.
Yesterday, volunteers joined Gardaí in an extensive search of the Boyle to Lough Key cycle path, the Boyle Canal, and Lough Key Forest Park. Despite a large turnout and thorough sweeps of the area, no confirmed sightings were reported.
An Garda Síochána is now urging residents in Boyle and surrounding areas to check their properties, sheds, and lands for any sign of David or any information that could assist the investigation.
His family has described his disappearance as completely out of character and say they are “extremely concerned” for his welfare.
