ALERT: Met Eireann urge caution as new weather warning issued for Leitrim

Leitrim could endure poor visibility, localised flooding and difficult travelling conditions

The heavy rain and damp weather has continued into the new week as Met Éireann provide the latest weather update.

A status yellow rain warning has been issued for three counties which include Donegal, Leitrim and Sligo which started at 5am Monday morning and will be in place until 5pm.

Met Éireann has warned that there'll be heavy showers and longer spells of rain in these counties in particular.

They say the consequences from the weather warning could include difficult travelling conditions and poor visibility which will put those making journeys throughout the counties on high alert. There will also be chances of localised flooding in the affected areas.
