Condolences have been extended following the passing of Sean McGloin of Erriff, Glenade, on Saturday, October 11, at Sligo University Hospital.

RIP: Fond tributes as Leitrim man remembered as ‘wonderful and kind’

Condolences are being paid following the passing of Leitrim man Sean McGloin on Saturday, October 11.

Sean, of Erriff, Glenade, passed away peacefully at Sligo University Hospital. He is predeceased by his parents Johnny and Ellen and his brother Thady.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Anne, sons John and Declan, daughters-in-law Laura and Kathleen, granddaughters Ellen and Alison, brother Patsy, sister Ann, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours, and his wide circle of friends.

Tributes have been pouring in following Sean’s passing.

“Sean was one of the really good guys, a really great neighbor, and a life-long true friend. He will surely be missed around the place, but forgotten he will not be, and he will be remembered always in the fondest of ways,” read one condolence.

Sean will repose at Our Lady’s Hospital Chapel, Manorhamilton, today from 5pm to 7pm. Removal will take place on Tuesday, October 14, for Funeral Mass at 12pm in St Michael’s Church, Glenade, followed by burial in Conwell Cemetery, Glenade.

“Sean was always a lovely and friendly person to meet and to chat. It was a privilege to know him. May his gentle soul rest in Peace in the arms of the angels,” read another tribute.

“Sean was a wonderful, kind and humorous friend. May his soul rest in peace,” said another.

The family requests family flowers only, with donations, if desired, to the Irish Cancer Society.
