An application has been submitted to Leitrim County Council for the development of a community and tourism hub in Leitrim Village.
The application was submitted to the County Council earlier this month by Seamus Regan and Seamus Gibbons on behalf of the Leitrim Village Development Committee.
The development would entail the renovation and extension of an existing two-storey semi-detached domestic dwelling in Tullylannan, Leitrim Village.

According to the application, the proposed community/tourism hub would contain a public tourism information office, public showers/WCs, an open-plan meeting room, a public kitchen, along with four en suite double-bed units for short-stay tourism accommodation.
The application also covers the creation of a public car park fitted with car charging points and e-bicycle charging points to the rear of the development.

It also highlights the need to construct an external open courtyard to cater for local community public events, and to demolish two existing sheds to the rear of the proposed accommodation, while also upgrading all existing public service connections.
Today, the application was deemed incomplete and must be resubmitted by the 11th of November. A date for a decision on planning permission eligibility is unclear at this point.
