Planning permission has been granted, with conditions, for an arts-focused space and retreat in North Leitrim.
An application for the proposed project at Mullagh, Dromahair, was submitted to Leitrim County Council on June 12.
The development involves the construction of a new standalone building, designed in an agricultural style, which will serve as a venue for various artistic residencies, workshops, and retreats.
It also includes accessible entry and circulation at ground level, ensuring the space is suitable for individuals with mobility issues.

In addition, the proposal includes the rearrangement of the existing car parking area to provide 19 parking spaces, including one designated as an accessible space.
The plan also provides for new landscaped areas featuring native planting, the installation of a new wastewater treatment system, and all other associated site development works.
Planning permission was granted on November 5 with 12 conditions.
These include a requirement that a minimum of 10 percent of the proposed parking spaces be fitted with electrical connection points for electric vehicle charging; that site development and building works be carried out between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 2pm on Saturdays; and that any trees or hedging that die, are removed, or become seriously damaged or diseased within five years of the completion of the development be replaced in the next planting season with species of similar size and type.
