The event was organised by Kathleen O’Flynn, Adeline Guckian from the Leitrim Inn, Mon Ami Boutique, Shauna Flynn, Blueway Beauty, and Tara Henry from Luna Accessories, along with Treacey and DJs Alanna and Lauren.

Models on the night included Ursula, Chawie, Fiona, Michelle and Amber.

Tara Henry supplied the accessories for the show and also acted as MC. Speaking about the atmosphere, she said, “It was a really warm atmosphere, it was amazing,” describing it as “very relaxed and easy going.” She added, “The clients loved it, they had a great night.”

Explaining the decision to raise funds for the North West Hospice Charity Shop, Tara said, “The inspiration was to raise a little bit of money for a charity, to have fun and raise money.”

She noted that many local businesses contributed to what became a substantial raffle. Sponsors included Joli Homeware, Moon River, Boots Pharmacy Carrick-on-Shannon, Kiernan’s Pharmacy Carrick-on-Shannon, VDA Coffee Carrick-on-Shannon, Ash Aesthetics Beauty, Mulveys House of Gifts, Glancy’s SuperValu Carrick-on-Shannon, Claire and PJ Noone Leitrim Village, McCormacks Leitrim Village, MJ O’Connor Bar, Claire and Chris Star Grazing Ireland, Luna Accessories, Mon Ami Boutique and The Leitrim Inn.

The organisers chose to do things a little differently at the fashion show. “We didn’t put any prices on anything. The argument was that we were not there to sell. It was more about showing the product than selling it, and creating a bit of fun,” Tara explained.

“The most rewarding part was that it all came together. Seeing the happy people was amazing,” she added. “The crowd were such a happy bunch, it started the Christmas celebrations.”

Tara also noted that the evening gave women an opportunity to go out with their friends, catch up, and enjoy a night that wasn’t centered around drinking.

With over €2,000 raised, the event proved to be a wonderful night out in support of a great cause.
