More than 150 people in Leitrim remain without power this morning, December 10, following the impact of Storm Bram.
According to ESB PowerCheck, 171 customers are currently without electricity, mainly in the Gorvagh and Killargue areas.
The estimated restoration time for the Killargue area is 2pm today, while power in Gorvagh is expected to be restored by 12pm.
All of Ireland was placed under weather advisories after Met Éireann upgraded its warnings on Tuesday, as strong winds brought down trees and some areas experienced road flooding. In terms of the storm’s effects on Leitrim, Storm Bram was not as severe as previous events, with the worst-affected counties including Cork, Tipperary, Kildare and Louth.

A total of 54,000 homes, businesses, and farms were without power last night, including more than 450 customers in Leitrim.
Many outages in Leitrim were restored overnight as ESB crews worked late to repair the damage; however, almost 200 customers remain without power this morning, and ESB teams are back on site continuing repair efforts.
Some primary and secondary schools across the county closed for the day due to the Status Orange wind warning, and Leitrim County Council also closed the Access to the Sea amenity in Tullaghan.
Strong winds persisted overnight, but calmer conditions have returned this morning, and all weather alerts have now been lifted. People, especially motorists, are still being urged to remain cautious due to the risk of surface water and fallen debris.

Highest temperatures in Leitrim today are expected to range from eight to 10 degrees, with cloudy conditions forecast to continue throughout the day.
