Cllr Paddy Farrell sought an update on funding and work to be carried out at Attirory, Carrick-on-Shannon, Leitrim, saying "it is very dangerous for pedestrians and vehicles as there is no footpath in place."
The response said: "The district office will liaise with the active travel department and seek funding for a footpath extension. However, it should be noted that land take will be needed from all the private dwellings front garden. We will contact the land owners and endeavour to progress this project."
Cllr Farrell said: "I understood that there was funding nearly there for this and I think the landowner agreed to give his property alleviate this problem; there are speed signs but there is not much heed passed on those.
