Pathway is not safe for pedestrian, Leitrim councillor says
Cllr Roisin Kenny asked Leitrim Council to make safe the pathway that pedestrians use to get from Barlyfield estate in Carrigallen onto the Mill Lane, "the laneway that comes out across from the primary school. There have been numerous slips and falls in recent weeks; local residents have put gravel down but I would ask the Council to make it safe in the long term, it is only a few feet in length, it would make a big difference to the safety of pedestrians in the area. I would also like to explore the possibility of lighting being provided on the Mill Lane itself."

The response stated that this section of path can be upgraded in conjunction with the Active Travel Scheme works, which are
planned for Carrigallen in 2026.
Cllr Kenny asked: "Can you put an extra bit of stone on it as temporary measure because I nearly broke my own neck on it. Several people have fallen and a jogger nearly busted his nose."
