No injuries reported as road closes following crash in South Leitrim

Motorists are advised that traffic diversions are in place, as the road is currently closed at Drumheckil, at the junction of the R280 and R209 near Leitrim Village.

No injuries reported as road closes following crash in South Leitrim

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a road traffic collision on the R209 near Leitrim Village this morning, Wednesday, January 7.

The collision, which occurred at approximately 11:20am, involved two trucks. Gardaí have confirmed that no injuries were reported.

Motorists are advised that traffic diversions remain in place, as the road is currently closed at Drumheckil, at the junction of the R280 and R209.

In a statement on Facebook, An Garda Síochána Sligo/Leitrim said, “Gardaí are at the scene of a collision involving two trucks on the R209 this morning. There were no injuries reported. The road is currently closed at Drumheckil at the junction of the R280/R209.

“Northbound traffic is diverted into Leitrim Village through Drumshanbo and on to Drumcong. Southbound traffic on the R210 is being diverted at Drumcong towards Drumshanbo.”
