Another added, “He was a good neighbour. It was always nice to chat to him when back home in Mullies on holidays. May his gentle soul rest in peace.”
Funeral mass for Eamon took place on Friday, January 9, at 12pm in the Church of the Annunciation, Mullies, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
One person who left a condolence recalled a personal memory with Eamon that reflected on his candor, “We visited Eamon a number of times in Churchmount and were humbled by his breadth of knowledge and his contentment with his life and surroundings. During one of those last visits, he gave us a stick which he had patiently shaped from a nearby tree, and we thought it was a lovely gesture by him. We'll treasure that stick even more now.”
Another tribute read, “A very pleasant man to have a chat with. May he rest in peace.”
