A Leitrim woman is being fondly remembered through an outpouring of online condolences following her passing this week.
Imelda Donnelly (née Lloyd), of Shannagh Grove, Mohill, and formerly of Boyle, Roscommon, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, in the exceptional care of the management and staff at Árus Carolan Nursing Home.
She was predeceased by her husband Tommy and is deeply regretted by her loving son Lloyd, daughters Valerie and Adrienne, her cherished grandchildren Alan, David, Erica, Ruth, Hannah, Gareth, Keara, Danny and Gavin, as well as her great-grandchildren.
Imelda was the beloved sister of Sean, Eileen, Geraldine, Liam, Irene, James and Guy. She will be sorely missed by her wonderful neighbours and wide circle of lifelong friends in Mohill.
Tributes shared on RIP.ie from the Mohill community and further afield reflect the high regard in which Imelda was held.

“We have so many lovely memories of Imelda from her time living on Main St and in Shannagh Grove Mohill - kind, helpful and caring. May she now rest peacefully and enjoy her well deserved eternal reward with her husband Tommy,” one person wrote.
“She was a lovely friendly lady. She brought fun to every gathering,” another remembered.
“Imelda was a wonderful neighbour and friend to all of us on Main Street. Mohill will miss her good humour, friendly face and her natural kindness,” another tribute read.
Removal will take place on Friday, February 27, to St Patrick’s Church, arriving for 7pm. Funeral Mass for Imelda will take place on Saturday, February 28, at 11am, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
Further condolences echoed similar sentiments. “Imelda was a very kind fun loving lady, a wonderful wife and mother. May her gentle soul rest in eternal peace,” wrote one Mohill resident. “Imelda was a wonderful neighbour when we lived in Main Street as kid's and in later years in Shannagh Grove,” read another.
