It is expected that a design team will soon be chosen to carry out a feasibility study on Spencer Harbour, located between Drumkeerin and Tarmon.

In August 2025, €45,000 was allocated to Spencer Harbour to conduct a feasibility study exploring the development of a trail connecting Spencer Harbour to Drumkeerin. This funding was provided under the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme (ORIS).

At the March meeting of Manorhamilton Municipal District, Cllr Pádraig Fallon inquired whether tenders had been received for the feasibility study and when a consultant was expected to be appointed.

An official response confirmed that tenders for the appointment of a Design Team to prepare a Feasibility Report for the Drumkeerin to Spencer Harbour trail have been returned and are with the Drumkeerin Tidy Towns Group for assessment.

“It would be expected that a Design Team will be appointed by the Community Group shortly,” the response concluded.
