Gardaí attended the scene of a four-vehicle collision involving three cars and a van in Carrick-on-Shannon, with one driver taken to hospital on March 17.

A driver has been taken to hospital following a four-vehicle collision in Leitrim on St Patrick’s Day.

Gardaí confirmed they attended the scene, which involved three cars and a van, on Leitrim Road in Carrick-on-Shannon at 1:30pm on March 17.

In a statement, An Garda Síochána said, “Gardaí attended the scene of a four-vehicle road traffic collision (three cars and a van) at Leitrim Road, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim, which occurred at around 1:30pm on 17th March 2026.

“The driver of one of the cars was brought by ambulance to Sligo University Hospital for assessment.

“No other injuries reported at the time.”
