Dublin has had the most, with a total of nine fatalities.

Nationally, road deaths are now more than 5% higher than for the same period last year, with 40 people dying in crashes over the first quarter of the year, in comparison to 38 last year.

It comes after 2025 was described as a "devastating" year on Irish roads, with Garda figures showing that there were 179 fatal collisions across the year, resulting in 190 fatalities on public roads and in public places, which include car parks and non-public roads.
