A return to milder temperatures and improving conditions is expected across Leitrim this week following a stormy weekend that brought strong winds, rain and local power outages.

Weather conditions in Leitrim have certainly improved this Tuesday, April 7, following a weekend of poor weather brought by Storm Dave.

Storm Dave struck the northwest on Saturday, April 4, bringing heavy rain showers, strong gusts of wind, and cold temperatures in its wake. 

Power outages occurred in many parts of the county on Saturday afternoon, with some continuing into the following morning.

Temperatures have risen today and are expected to be very mild, ranging between 13 and 16 degrees Celsius. This morning began cloudy, with showery outbreaks of rain developing.

Night-time temperatures will remain mild, as tonight is expected to be mostly dry but generally cloudy, with limited clear spells and lowest temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees.

Wednesday, April 8, will be dry for most areas, with a mix of cloud and sunny spells. 

Cloud will build from the west through the afternoon, with rain and drizzle moving into western coastal counties during the evening.

Conditions will remain mild, with highest temperatures of 12 to 14 degrees in light to moderate southwesterly breezes.
