Aura Holohan Group, which includes Aura Leitrim, is delighted to announce that they have been recognized as one of the Best Workplaces in Ireland in 2026. Aura Leitrim is part of the Aura Holohan Group and this is the company’s 8th year to be ranked in the Top Best Large Workplaces. It is the only Fitness and Leisure company to be awarded the Best Workplace certification in Ireland.
Aura Leitrim leisure center located in Attifinlay Carrick-on- Shannon, is owned by Leitrim County council and Emer Connolly, Senior Executive Officer, Leitrim County Council expressed congratulations to the entire team at Aura Holohan Group on being recognised in the Top 20 Best Large Workplaces in Ireland and Best Workplaces for Women 2026. Emer acknowledged the remarkable accomplishment that reflects Aura Holohan Group’s commitment to fostering a culture of trust, collaboration, inclusion, support, as well as their dedication to developing an empowering environment encouraging the continuous improvement of staff.

The Aura Holohan Group is the largest employer in the Irish Fitness and Leisure sector, employing over 450 employees in 12 Aura Leisure centres, DKIT Sport and 6 Anytime Fitness clubs in Ireland. The group is one of Ireland's foremost specialists in the management of sports and leisure facilities, focusing on quality and multi-award-winning services across all operations. The Aura Swim Academy is Ireland’s largest swimming academy with over 12,000 children attending lessons each week. The Aura Holohan Group has won numerous national awards for Disability Inclusion, Diversity and Inclusion, Health and Safety, Environmental Management and Quality Systems.
The announcement that Aura Leisure is one of the 20 Best Large Workplaces in Ireland, following their official certification as a Great Place to Work 2025, is a huge achievement for the organisation.

Aura Holohan Group were also honored to be recognised as one of the Best Workplace for Women in 2026 for the third consecutive year.
Best Workplaces for Women recognition is a programme that aims to recognise those top organisations which, in addition to providing a great work environment for everyone in general, are creating positive and supportive workplaces for women in particular. This year Great Place to Work recognised 40 organisations from a wide range of sectors and sizes, with over 10,000 female leaders represented among these organisations.
