Yellow weather warning issued for Leitrim as gales and heavy rain move in

Met Éireann has issued a yellow wind warning for Leitrim from 12pm to 9pm today, with strong gusts expected to bring difficult travel conditions and a risk of fallen trees and branches.

A yellow weather wind warning has been issued by Met Éireann for the north west today, April 10, including Leitrim from 12pm until 9pm.

Other counties included in the weather warning are Donegal, Galway, Mayo and Sligo.

Met Éireann is warning of strong and gusty south to southeast winds on Friday for Leitrim, along with possible impacts such as difficult travelling conditions and some fallen trees and branches.

There is also a rain warning in place for counties Cork, Kerry and Waterford, valid from 9am to 9pm.

Conditions today will be wet and windy, with gales developing in coastal areas. Rain will be widespread and some heavy and squally bursts are possible, especially in the late afternoon and evening.

The highest temperatures will be between 7 and 10 degrees.
