The death has occurred of Sinead Dore, Killarkin, Leitrim Village, and formerly of Ardeskin, Donegal Town.
Sinead passed away peacefully on the 7th of April 2026, surrounded by her loving family in Sligo University Hospital.
Sinead is deeply sadly missed by her heartbroken husband Pearse O’Looney and her adored daughters Alex and Toni.
She is predeceased by her father, Robert (Bob), her mother-in-law, Lillian and her aunt Colette.

She is remembered by her loving mother Margaret, her brothers Niall and Barry, her father-in-law, JJ, her brothers-in-law Emmett and Cathal, her sisters-in-law Yvonne, Chrissie, Lisa and Mary, as well as her aunt Ella-Marie, uncles Tom and James, aunts-in-law Celine and Susan, uncle-in-law Paddy, niece, nephews, cousins, relatives and a wide circle of neighbours and friends.
The Lough Allen College community is left heartbroken following the passing of Sinead, who joined the Business and Maths department of the school in 1998. She was described by the school as a “gift of teaching went over and beyond. She put her heart and soul into her students.”
“We will never forget her for her gentle warmth and support,” the School wrote in a tribute.
One condolence message said: “I was deeply shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Sinead. News like this brings a heaviness that is hard to put into words.”
Sinead will repose at her home in Leitrim Village (N41 K721) on Friday, 10th April from 5 pm to 8 pm. (House private at all other times, please. A shuttle bus will operate from Leitrim Gael’s GAA pitch. Funeral goers are asked to please adhere to the steward’s instructions.

Her funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, the 11th April at 12 noon in St Joseph’s Church, Leitrim Village, with burial afterwards in Kiltoghert Cemetery.
The family have asked that Donations, if desired, be directed to The Irish Cancer Society.
Her funeral mass will be streamed live online for those who can not attend.
Another message remembered her as “not only an inspiring teacher, but also a genuinely kind and supportive friend.”
“Her gift of teaching went over and beyond. She put her heart and soul into her students. And her students had utmost respect for her. We will never forget her for her gentle warmth and support.”
