Kiltyclogher was the place to be on October 28 and 30 when the community centre was packed to capacity on both nights for the community’s themed weekend 'From Kilty to Cashel'.
A full house in Kiltyclogher Community Centre was had on both nights where the Inishree Ceili Band provided music for the set dancers who travelled from all over the country. Fear an Ti on the night was Joe McGorrin.
On Sunday night, the McKeaney Sisters took to the stage with gusto and provided top class singing, recitation and dancing.
Rosie, Peggy, Anna, Mary and Kathleen gave a variety of songs in alcapella style.
They were accompanied by their brother Brendan who gave nostalgic renditions of local songs handed down by locals in the Kilty/Cashel area.
Button Accordion Player, Fergus Bogue from Cavan, Grace Doolan and Gerry McMahon entertained the crowds along with dancers Liam McManus and Romai McMorrow and step dancing by Teresa McKeaney and Peggy McGovern.
Gene Sheerin provided great fun and laughter with his own Leitrim brand of Seanchai story telling.
David Sheridan a renowned Leitrim musician and composer gave his first live performance of his newly composed air, ‘The Old Derry Roa’” which was especially commissioned for this weekend.
This road runs through the village of Kiltyclogher as well as parts of Manorhamilton.
The concert was supported by Leitrim County Council and the Leitrim Live performance programme.
