Carole Coleman speaking at the event
Longford, Leitrim and Westmeath Women in Business Network held their tri-county networking event in Longford Rugby Club on Tuesday, December 6.
Over 70 female business owners or managers attended, with the theme of ‘rest, relax and refocus’ for this popular event, one of the first since the start of Covid-19.
At the event, broadcaster and journalist Carole Coleman shared stories from her career, as well as her life experiences.
Carole also emphasised the importance of taking time for ourselves and breaking free from our busy schedules when needed.
An ice-breaker and networking session was facilitated by Fran Best from Lissawell Coaching. This allowed attendees the opportunities to meet with new people and share ideas face-to-face, which was very welcome after two years of doing so on-screen.
At the event a local business showcase featured three businesses, each from one of the three participating counties. County Longford was represented by Jenevieve Butler from Midland Hearing Care.

Leitrim was represented by Richelle South from Leitrim Hill Creamery, while Westmeath was represented by Denise Buckley from Sugar Plum Sweetery.
The businesses shared their story, from start-up to the present day.
All spoke freely about the challenges and opportunities they faced in building and sustaining their business.
Although operating in varied industries, common themes of planning, prioritising and following your passion emerged. Finding space to rest, relax and refocus also emerged from the open conversations.
The Women in Business Network look forward a new calendar of events for 2023.
