No appointments for PCR tests available across Ireland this afternoon

The test centre is moving

The Sligo COVID-19 Community Test Centre is moving to a new premises.

The testing centre which had up to now been located in Finisklin will be moving to the Cleveragh Road on Friday February 11th.

The test centre will operate in Finisklin until lunchtime on Thursday February 10th.

The new clinic will be run out of the old Sligo Development centre (also referred to locally as 'the old tax office') on Cleveragh Road, behind McCranns Londis.

If you have symptoms of COVID-19 and are aged 4 to 39, you should use antigen tests. Do not book a PCR test. If you are 40 or older and have symptoms of COVID-19, book a PCR test. Do not book antigen tests.

You also need to self-isolate (stay in your room). There is a high risk you could spread the virus.

Follow this advice even if you had your first round of COVID-19 vaccines, a booster, or a positive PCR test in the past 3 months.

If your child is 3 months to 3 years old and has symptoms of COVID-19, book a PCR test for them. Do not book antigen tests.

You also need to keep them at home and isolate them from other people.

Jill Murphy, Sligo Community Test Centre Coordinator said “We are moving as our lease at the existing centre in Finisklin is now up. The centre will continue to provide a walk through service for the local community for PCR testing for COVID-19. The clinic remains appointment only. Opening hours are 9.30am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm seven days a week.”
