The Mysterious Mound on Main Street!
There is much head scratching in Carrick-on-Shannon on the creation of a spectacular “camel’s hump” on a once level street in the County Town.
Part of the new Public Realm works, motorists complain about the hard ‘slap’ felt as their suspension deals with the sharp drop in levels.
Pedestrians, and especially mobility impaired citizens, also complain of unnecessary challenges while traversing the multiple levels of the confused engineering.
One senior citizen remarked of the works: ‘they must have no eyes in their heads.’
