LIMERICK’S three bridge walking route is getting a big promotional push this week, with the release of a new map of the route for people to avail of - just in time for the brighter evenings to come.

Limerick City and County Council is introducing a new map of the 3.6km route online and in print form, with the hopes of encouraging people to experience the city through the scenic views of the River Shannon.

Starting and ending in Arthur’s Quay Park, the popular riverside route is officially called Slí na Sláinte, and it highlights over twenty points of interest to explore including iconic landmarks and a series of parks along the way.

The bridges along the route include Shannon Bridge, Sarsfield Bridge and Thomand Bridge.

Donn O’Sullivan, Head of Marketing and Communications with Limerick City and County Council added: “The Three Bridges Walk is such an amazing asset in the heart of Limerick City,”

“This map allows those who have never done the “Three Bridges” before to learn about our historic city, but it also serves as a guide to those more “experienced” users to the wonderful history of Limerick around them” Donn added.

The guide is visual and informative for locals and tourists alike and as part of this year’s campaign, a specially curated Limerick Walk It Run It Love It playlist is available for walkers to enjoy!

The Three Bridges Walk map is part of Limerick City and County Council’s four-week multimedia campaign which is running from mid-January to mid-February across social, digital and print media.

Distribution of print guides will commence this week and will be available at Limerick City and County Council offices at Merchant’s Quay and Dooradoyle, in selected hotels, Museums and cafés.
