Eric’s pub is located on St Joseph’s Street in Limerick city
A FORMER pub in the city is set to be transformed into a residential building, according to Peter McVerry Trust.
The charity has confirmed that the former Eric’s Pub on St Joseph’s Street will be redeveloped into a four-unit apartment building.
Once construction is completed on the redevelopment, the apartment building will be used as social housing.
Peter McVerry Trust is a national housing and homeless charity committed to reducing homelessness and the harm caused by substance misuse and social disadvantage.
The housing and homeless charity is conducting a string of projects in Limerick city and county.
Last week, construction on another development located at 2-3 Mallow Street also in the city was launched by the Minister for Housing Darragh O’Brien.
The Mallow Street project will see the old OPW building being transformed into 12 single-bed apartment units which will also be used for social housing.
At the launch, CEO of Peter McVerry Trust, Pat Doyle, commented on the upcoming housing developments the organisation is undertaking across the city and county.
“This is part of 80 units we are bringing across the city and county. We’re doing four units in Askeaton at the moment, eight units in Newcastle West,” he said.
