LEVEL-UP Arcade Bar close to Mary Immaculate which closed in January 2022 has opened its doors in the city centre.
The bar, popular with students, previously located on Courtbrack Avenue caused sadness when it shut its doors seemingly for the last time because of the cost-of-living crisis.
Now, the arcade bar has posted on social media that it is teaming up with Hunters Sports Bar located on O’Connell Street.
“After huge demand and months of planning, we're absolutely thrilled to announce our re-opening!” The arcade bar posted on social media.
“We are very, very close to reopening at our brand new site here with the amazing Hunter Sports Bar in Limerick city centre on O'Connell Street!” they added.
Retro arcade games, Japanese import games and pinball machines are some of the machines people can expect to play at the all-new arcade bar.
“We have some extremely rare games such as Wacca, Guitar Hero, Mai Mai, Tekken 7, Ultra Street Fighter 4, Time Crisis 5 and more. We also have retro games like Mario Kart Arcade GP, Outrun 2, The Simpsons, Street Fighter 3, Mortal Kombat 2 and tonnes more,” a spokesperson for the bar said.
The bar has re-opened at 109 O’Connell Street, right next door to Hunters Sports Bar and where the former Bar Alexa was located.
The bar posted a video of what can be expected from the new venue accompanying the re-opening announcement post on social media.
The bar is open from this Tuesday, March 6.
