Liam Kearns passed away this Sunday evening
THE GAA community in Limerick and indeed across the country is coming to terms with the breaking news this Sunday evening that football manager Liam Kearns has passed away.
Mr Kearns, a native of Tralee, died following a sudden illness on Sunday evening. He was 60.
A retired garda sergeant, Mr Kearns was based in Limerick. He served at Mayorstone garda station in Limerick city and was primarily involved in training gardai until his retirement.
All involved with Limerick GAA would like to extend our sincere sympathies to the family of Liam Kearns on the sad news of his untimely passing today,

He has previously managed Limerick, Laois and Tipperary senior footballers. In the year 2000 he led the Limerick U-21 football team to an All-Ireland final which they lost to Mickey Harte's Tyrone. He was the current Offaly manager.
In a statement, Offaly GAA said it was "devastated to learn of the sudden passing this evening of our senior football manager, Liam Kearns".
"In his short period of time as manager of the senior footballers, Liam made a hugely positive impact and he was extremely well respected by everyone associated with Offaly GAA.
"Offaly GAA extend deepest sympathies to his wife Angela and daughters Rachel and Laura. May he rest in peace."
The former Austin Stacks clubman won an All-Ireland minor title with the Kingdom in 1980 and was involved with Kerry Under-21 and senior panels.
