Gardai and firefighters at the scene of the collision in Abbeyfeale
A CAR was flipped onto a footpath as a result of a four-vehicle road traffic collision in Abbeyfeale.
One local told Limerick Live: "Thank God nobody was walking there at the time. If there had been a child or anybody it could be a very different story."
It is not known how many occupants were in the car that ended up on it side.
A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a four-vehicle traffic collision that occurred at approximately 6:20pm on April 1 on Bridge Street in Abbeyfeale."
"One person was taken to University Hospital Limerick as a precaution following this incident," added the garda spokesperson.
Gardai are due to make an Easter Road Safety Appeal to motorists on Thursday. Already this year, 45 people have lost their lives in road traffic collisions in Ireland. That is two more fatalities than up to the same date in 2022.
