Limerick singer songwriter Abe Soare will perform at K-Fest
A NUMBER of Limerick artists have been confirmed to take part in "one of Ireland's most important festivals."
Over the June bank holiday weekend, Limerick artists and musicians will perform and exhibit their work in the picturesque town of Killorglin in County Kerry to celebrate K'Fest-'s 10th anniversary.
A hub of culture and creativity, the event has become known as "one of Ireland's most important festivals" celebrating the work of emerging visual artists and musicians.
Among the Limerick names taking part in this year's festival is singer-songwriter Abe Soare and post-punk quartet His Father's Voice.
Self-taught artist Ronan Crowley will be exhibiting a series of surreal pen and ink drawings, while artists Seán Cahill and Niamh McGuinness will also be showing their works.
As part of this year's programme, audiences will witness an exciting collaboration with Limerick School of Art and Design (LSAD).
Programme Leader, Painting Department, LSAD, Alan Keane, describes how the collaboration will be an important platform for the emerging Limerick artists:
"K-Fest has become an essential gathering of the art community, providing LSAD students with a vibrant platform to showcase their work alongside 50 other talented visual artists - emerging and experienced alike. Not only it is an opportunity for showcasing talent, but also to provide these brilliant minds with ample opportunities to connect and collaborate."
K-Fest will take place from June 2 to 5.
