DERMOT Kennedy's gigs in Thomond Park were already going to be a slam dunk but now they have got the backing of a basketball great.
Jimmy Butler, a six-time NBA All-Star, is a big fan of the Dublin singer. The Miami Heat player shared photos of himself with Dermot Kennedy on his Instagram page.
"Next week's show at Thomond Park stadium is going to be special," wrote Jimmy in a post on his Instagram page which has 9.4 million followers. Photos of the stars on a balcony in Miami and sharing a cuppa have got over 100,000 likes.
Dermot plays Thomond Park this July 7, 8 and 9 as part of his Sonder Tour, named after his latest album, featuring hits such as Something to Someone, Kiss Me, Dreamer and Innocence and Sadness.
His album, Sonder, reached the Number 1 spot in Ireland and the UK. A dynamic and powerful live performer, Dermot has become one of the biggest and fastest selling live artists ever following his historic run of Irish shows in 2022 - with eight huge concerts across Ireland.
He also headlined Electric Picnic to over 70,000 people in September. His debut album “Without Fear” is also the biggest selling album of the millennium by an Irish artist.
Cian Ducrot, Kingfishr and Nell Mescal have been announced as the special guests who will join Dermot on stage for his Limerick dates.
