AFTER a week of celebrations with the Limerick hurlers, team manager John Kiely is keeping the good times rolling at the Galway Races.
The hurling boss was pictured on day one of the famous races with a man of similar namesake to himself, renowned horse trainer John Kiely from Waterford.
Both men come from different sporting backgrounds but are equally respected in their own right.
Originally from Dungarvan, John Kiely, the horse man, has long been recognised as one of the most admired members of the training ranks.
Having mastered his trade over the last 40 years, Kiely has had huge success more notably winning the Irish Gold Cup in Leopardstown with Carlingford Lough in 2015 with Tony McCoy on board and again in 2016 with Mark Walsh as jockey.
A man that is noted as the type to stay out of the limelight, he was thrilled to press the flesh with one of the greatest hurling managers of all time, who happens to share the same name as him.

After steering his team to a historic fourth All-Ireland title in-a-row, John Kiely, the hurling man, has become one of the best hurling minds in the country.
A famed Limerick team and coaching staff brought the Liam MacCarthy Cup around to the various hurling clubs in the last week as the All-Ireland celebrations continued.
Now the hurling boss can relax and enjoy an exhibition of horse racing at the annual Galway Races alongside legends of the horsing industry like Waterford’s John Kiely.
