IT WASN'T to be for the Limerick Ladies Junior footballers in their All-Ireland this Sunday as they lost by just two points in a gallant performance against Down.
Star hurler Aaron Gillane took to Instagram to share his pride in the performance of partner Róisín Ambrose who captained the team.
"So proud," he posted on a photo of himself in the stand and Róisín in her Limerick jersey.
Aaron was one of the guest speakers at the Limerick Ladies Gaelic Football Association's breakfast fundraiser at Adare's Woodlands House Hotel ahead of the final.
He explained that before a big game "myself, I focus on training and isolate for the rest of the week. Róisín is similar enough, training and otherwise staying at home, sticking to her normal routine".
As a GAA couple, Róisín and Aaron often have similar experiences, and, together, they can rely on each other for support.
And Aaron showed his support of Róisín on Instagram after Limerick lost to Down on a scoreline of 1-7 to 0-8
