Full Moon Rising makes return to Limerick

Fire performer Erin Luna Gallagher is one of the acts you can see at the Full Moon Rising Festival!

THE HARVEST moon may have provided light for farmers to work throughout the night in times gone but nowadays it provides the backdrop to a popular Limerick festival.

The Full Moon Rising Festival returns to the village of Kilmeedy on Saturday, September 30.

The festival is set to provide a night of “music and laughter” that is sure to have those in attendance howling for more.

The event is volunteer-run and will see a diverse range of music being performed across three stages, there will also be food and drink.

The event is strictly over 18s but that doesn’t mean the children will be missing out on all the fun as the evening before is the Full Moon Rising Kids’ Night, taking place from 6.30pm.

There will be plenty for the whole family to enjoy from facepainting, a disco, a scavenger hunt, outdoor games, balloon modelling, a petting zoo and much more.

“Kilmeedy is a vibrant community that embraces and celebrates connection, togetherness and well-being within our own community and our nearby parishes,” a spokesperson for the festival said.

All proceeds from the event will be going towards developing the community’s new 7.5 acres of land.

Plans include a communal/event centre, a wellness centre, a playground, a running/walking track, vegetable gardens and an apiary.

The Full Moon Rising Festival will take place at Seanie’s Farm in Kilmeedy village from 4pm.
