Family show novel support for newly crowned Limerick club hurling champions

ONE LIMERICK family have shown their novel support for their local GAA club with a fantastic display of bales in the Dromin-Athlacca colours.

The Scully family from Banogue displayed their encouragement for their club side, which features three Scully brothers, Daniel, Shane and Cian.

The three siblings helped Dromin-Athlacca to win the Lyons of Limerick County Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship over the Bank Holiday weekend sending the club up to the senior ranks next year.

This display of bales can be spotted on the main Limerick to Cork road on the family farm in Banogue and was beautifully painted by the boy's sister, Aishling Scully.

Last Saturday's victory was made even more sweeter for corner back Shane, as he celebrated his 21st birthday on the day of the final win over Blackrock in the TUS Gaelic Grounds. Brother Daniel scored four points for the winners in blue and white, while Cian, who played U20 hurling with Limerick earlier this year, was introduced as a sub.

Dromin-Athlacca will now await either Lorrha Dorrha (Tipperary) or Corofin (Clare) in the Munster Intermediate Hurling semi-final which is set to take place on November 19.
