A status yellow warning has been issued for Limerick
MET Éireann has issued a status wind warning for 19 counties, including Limerick, as the latest storm system is set to batter most of the country.
While warnings for several counties, including Clare and Tipperary, were issued on Saturday, the status yellow warning for Limerick was only issued this Sunday morning.
"Storm Fergus will generate very strong and gusty southwesterly winds, veering westerly." states the warning which will be valid between 1pm and 9pm.
According to Met Éireann, potential impacts include difficult travelling conditions, debris and loose objects displaced.
Separately, status orange orange wind warnings have been issued for Clare, Galway and Mayo.
Those warnings will be valid from 3pm to 8pm this Sunday.
Motorists are particularly being urged to exercise caution if driving overnight or Monday morning.
Local authority crews in Limerick and across the country have been placed on standby.
